Taylor McKenzie were asked by Animal Aid to design and produce a short film – Where Does My Milk Come From? – which looks at the life of the British dairy cow. It traces the history of modern dairy farming, looks at milk-related health issues and sets out a range of dairy-free alternatives.
The film was produced with a limited budget using a mix of animation, historical and modern footage, and stills.
We shot the outdoor footage on a Canon 7D on the Sussex hills. A mixture of rotoscoping and Photoshop paint effects was used to create the crayon look. The book was created in CG, with video and illustration being ‘projected’ onto the virtual pages.
